The room was comfy and the staff were super friendly, but the lack of air con made the heat unbearable at night. Otherwise, a decent spot to crash.

The weather was lovely, had really nice stay for two nights. Decent staff, couldn't ask for more. Executive king room with double beds, a kitchen, free WIFI was ready when we arrived. Enjoyed the in-house restaurant for meals and a swimming pool. Everything was simply good;)))

A cozy stay with great dining experience
I was really surprised by my stay. The one-bedroom suite was beautifully furnished, with a king-size, comfy bed and spacious sitting area. The highlight was definitely the restaurant-dinner was exquisite, with the curry spiced to perfection, and the fish was excellent. Breakfast service by Kate was really good too. The Wi-Fi could definitely be improved. It was spotty at times.

I liked the dining experience and the spa the room was cozy and as it was just on the edge of town it was nice and quiet. Not far to walk down to the beach
Our room could have done with a bath. The spa could be better maintained. The pool SHOULD be heated.

The spa was lovely, and our room was comfortable (once we worked out how to use the heater).
The restaurant was not good value for money - the food was okay but not amazing, and therefore not worth the price they charged. The shower position leaked water all over the floor.

Chillin' in Greymouth 🌊
Such a lekker surprise, bright and modern inside! Sachas at reception was super helpful, and we had great brekkie with solid coffee. Plus, a quick walk to the beach for a chill sunset was an added bonus.
Had a few issues with noisy guests that kept us from a peaceful night.

From the outside it is unassuming, but once inside, the lobby area is nicely decorated. The dining area is equally pleasant, with a good ambience. The food was excellent, as was the service, and the staff are very polite and helpful. It does not have a "chain" feel to it.

We really enjoyed the breakfasts and the friendliness of the staff. The cleanliness of the room was very good.
When booking, contact the hotel for which room you will be allocated as there are 4 which face the railway and state highway! A bit noisy in the day but was fine at night. There is also insufficient parking outside your room (hotel is more of a motel setup) so opt for the on-street parking across from the main hotel building.

2 bedroom family room was very comfortable, and was nice to have a kitchen and living room. This is like an upscale business hotel, and had nice furnishings. There was an indoor pool.
The prices for food seemed expensive. Opted to go into town and get food.

The hotel offers a nice location for exploring Greymouth.
The kettle had a metallic taste, and the bed sheets were unclean. There were even hairs and stains found on them. When I raised this issue with staff, I was asked to wait in my room while they changed the bedding was great.

Very clean and comfortable; very friendly staff; quiet and welcoming.
Car park outside the motel units is a little awkward (not enough space) but lots of car park availble behind the hotel. Outside of buildings looks a bit run-down but the interior is very well looked after. The furniture looks new and beds are very comfortable.

The immediate impression of a smart, well appointed, welcoming entrance and lobby Staff were professional, attentive and delivered a genuine Kiwi friendliness The bed were very comfortable, uncommonly so with linen that did not feel motel budget. Our room was perfectly clean and with a recent tasteful l refurbishment. Great shower. The bar and dining ares, were again tasteful.and lovely spaces offering intimacy and visual interest. We enjoyed a delightful breakfast, offering choice, abundance and attentive service. We are well traveled and consider ourselves discerning. Our stay was a pleasure and I recommend the Ashley Hotel highly to any prospective guest. J R Hamilton
